Frequently asked questions about the AI writing coach
- What is an AI writing coach?
- An AI writing coach is a tool that helps writers build a consistent writing routine. It tracks words written each day, manages streaks (consecutive days of writing), awards badges for milestones, and provides progress statistics. It doesn't write for you β it helps you write more, and more consistently.
- How does the streak system work?
- Every day you hit your word goal, your streak grows by 1. Miss a day and it resets β but every 7 days you can recover it by writing at least double your minimum goal in a single day. Badges unlock at 3, 7, 14, 30, 60, and 100 consecutive days.
- What should my daily word goal be?
- It depends on your pace. For a standard novel (70,000β90,000 words), a goal of 500 words per day gets you there in 4β6 months. Narraya lets you set any goal and adjust it at any time.
- Does the writing coach work even if I write irregularly?
- Yes. The coach doesn't punish breaks: it keeps a monthly heatmap of writing sessions and shows total word volume over time. The streak is an incentive for consistency, but progress statistics are always visible regardless of continuity.
