Narraya Plans: choosing the right one for your moment

Four Narraya plans β€” FREE, STARTER, PRO, STUDIO β€” designed for different moments of writing. How to choose without upselling, and when to change.

Team Narraya

Choosing a plan, in any software, is a small exercise in self-knowledge. You have to understand where you are now β€” not where you'd like to be in six months, not where someone like you was a year ago. Narraya has four plans, designed for different moments of the writing trade. The right question is not "which gives me the most?", but "which fits how I work today?".

Four plans, four moments

Plan Books AI requests/month Advanced features Credit pack included
FREE 1 book Trial quota Editor, sheets, kanban Trial credits
STARTER Up to 3 books Moderate monthly quota + Writing Feedback, Cloud Sync Base credit pack
PRO Up to 10 books Wide monthly quota + Evolution Page, advanced analyses Mid credit pack
STUDIO Unlimited High quota All + priority support Large credit pack

For precise commercial details β€” costs, exact numbers of included credits, billing β€” always check the pricing page: it is the always-updated source. What we want to tell you here is the intent behind each one.

The right plan isn't the one that gives you the most. It's the one that gives you what you actually use.

Which plan for whom

If you're exploring

FREE. You haven't yet decided whether Narraya fits, or whether your novel project is something you'll really carry forward. The FREE plan lets you test: library, editor, one book, most structural features. AI features are available in a trial quota. There's no "upgrade within 30 days" obligation. You can stay here.

If you have a novel underway

STARTER. You're writing seriously a novel, maybe your first, maybe your second. You need something beyond FREE: the ability to manage 2-3 books in parallel (the new one and older ones), Cloud Sync for peace of mind, Writing Feedback for revision. STARTER is calibrated for those with one main project and a few secondary ones.

If you write regularly

PRO. You're not "on your first novel". You have several books active, run frequent analyses, use AI as integral part of the workflow. PRO unlocks advanced features like Evolution Page and gives you a generous credit quota. It's the plan for those who write as a profession, or nearly so.

If you're a professional author

STUDIO. You publish regularly, work on series and sagas, need priority support when something breaks. You manage many books in parallel. STUDIO is designed for those who, without Narraya, lose working days.

A note against upselling

An honest admission: we could push you toward PRO. It is the plan with the better margin. We won't β€” because if you take it without needing it, after three months you'll ask why you pay so much, and the answer would be right. If STARTER is enough for you, take STARTER. If FREE is enough, stay on FREE. We prefer a satisfied customer to an unhappy one paying more.

No plan imprisons you

You can downgrade or change plan every month. If you take PRO thinking you need it and realize STARTER was enough, you step down without penalty. Your books, sheets, narrative memory remain: only the credit quota and available features change. Credits already accumulated aren't lost.

When to upgrade, really

The honest sign that it's time to change plan is one: you're giving up things that would serve you. If you're running out of credits mid-month and therefore avoid useful AI features, it's time to move up. If you'd like to open a second book and your plan doesn't allow it, it's time to move up. If you need a feature unlocked only higher up, and the lack weighs, it's time to move up.

The wrong sign is feeling a generic pressure to "move to the higher plan". Narraya will never generate that pressure β€” no "upgrade now" popups, no countdown of discounts. If you go up, you do so by your own decision, grounded in your real work.

How to switch between plans

From your account settings, "Plan and billing" section, you can see the current plan, usage statistics, and change plan with one click. The switch is immediate for upgrades, with pro-rated pricing. The downgrade applies from the next billing cycle, so you don't lose credits or features already paid.

A plan, in our trade, is a tool, not an identity. You can start FREE, move to STARTER during the first novel, rise to PRO when you begin writing in series, drop back to STARTER during a sabbatical. It's normal, and it's the right way to use Narraya.
